Olivia Rodrigo Finally Got Her Driver’s License

Actress and singer, Olivia Rodrigo, finally got her license, and wrote a whole song about it. It must have been relatable because the song broke a Spotify record...

The song, “Drivers License” had the most streams of a song in a week. The total number of streams it reached was 65,873,080. The song also had the most streams played in a day that was a non-holiday song on Spotify as well. It also broke the record of being the most requested song ever in one day on Alexa globally, and the biggest first week streaming debut ever globally on Amazon Music.

You may be asking, who even is Olivia Rodrigo?

Her rise to fame is through the well known show called “ High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” (pictured) which aired on Disney Plus. Believe it or not, the show was the cause of all the drama that led to this song being produced.

It was on this show that Olivia Rodrigo met Joshua Bassett whom the song is believed to be about. They not only played a couple on screen as Nini and Ricky, but they were secretly dating off screen as well. They were eventually caught, and the relationship came to an end.

In the song, the audience gains knowledge as to why it ended. According to the lyrics it was because of a love triangle.

In the song, Olivia Rodrigo describes an older blonde that Joshua possibly left Olivia for. The love triangle is believed to be completed with the blonde being Sabrina Carpenter who is best known for her co-star role in “ Girl Meets World” which is a show that aired on Disney.

The reason fans have reached this conclusion is because around Halloween Sabrina Carpenter and Joshua Bassett dressed up together as SharkBoy and Lava Girl, and they posted flirtatious TikToks.

A couple days later after the release of the song “Driver License” , Josh Bassett released his new song called, “Lies Lies Lies.” Sounds to me like they did not have a clean break up.

It looks like the only time we will see them happily dating again is on screen in the next season of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series!"

Have you ever been stuck in a love triangle? Are you as obsessed with the song as we are?
