Netflix lands Kanye Documentary for $30 Million

A documentary is coming to Netflix on one of the most iconic & controversial artist of this generation.


The upcoming documentary will feature twenty years of footage and home videos of the rappers life and work. According to Billboard, the project is currently unnamed. The documentary will be created and made by of Kanye's directors Clarence 'Coodie' Simmons and Chike Ozah, in collaboration with TIME Studios.


Coodie & Chike, directed and produced West’s 2004 music video “Jesus Walks” and “Through the Wire.” The pair have also produced and directed the 2012 ESPN “30 for 30” documentary “Benji,” about Benjamin Wilson. Additionally, they directed music videos for Lupe Fiasco, Erykah Badu and many others. The Netflix project is expected to be released this year, according to Billboard.


The news of Kanye's Netflix documentary comes just over a month after Kanye's victory at the 2021 Grammy awards where he won gospel album of the year with, "Jesus Is King".


Speculations are also arising on if the documentary will include his rise and fall with Kim Kardashian & their ever changing relationship.
