Matt James and the Bachelor Controversy

Matt James, the current star and main contestant of “The Bachelor,” finally spoke on the current controversy caused by the cast of the show.

According to Matt James, Chris Harrison has made the announcement to step down from hosting the show for an unspecified amount of time. The bachelor explains to us that the reason Chris is doing this is because of his possible past racist allegations that arose into conversation recently. At one point, Chris was being interviewed by Rachel Lindsay, a current Extra Host, and a former star on “The Bachelorette” when he defended a current contestant who was photographed at a plantation themed fraternity formal in 2018.

Matt James stated that he was just now learning all this information, and is sad that his friend Rachel had to explain the history of the south to Chris. He is heartbroken about the situation, and stated

“As Black people and allies immediately knew and understood, it was a clear reflection of a much larger issue that The Bachelor franchise has fallen short on addressing adequately for years."

Matt James handled the situation professionally, and we hope that this is not the end for Chris Harrison and he wakes up.
