Lakers all-star KOBE BYRANT reportedly killed in a helicopter crash (UPDATED)

News broke around 2:30 pm (eastern time) via TMZ that beloved Lakers all-star Kobe Bryant, unfortunately, passed away from a helicopter crash in Calabasas Sunday Morning.

Initial reports state that Kobe was traveling with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria Onore ("Gigi") and 6 other passengers when his private Sikorski S-76 helicopter crashed in the hills of Calabasas. Shortly after, the helicopter caught on fire.


Gigi and Kobe frequently were seen together practicing basketball at the Mamba Acadamey in neighboring Thousand Oaks, CA.

He has also been known to take frequent trips from Newport Beach, CA to visit the home of the lakers at the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles, CA.


All 8 passengers and 1 crew onboard have been confirmed dead after emergency services responded. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends, wife Vanessa, and their 3 children.


The cause of the crash is currently unknown and is under investigation by the FAA.
